About Rodrigo Corral
“I have always been interested in the art of photography. Ever since I was a little kid. I was so intrigued by the ability to capture a moment, a memory. It all started very innocently until I was reintroduced to the art in College by my incredible teacher, Susan Fenton. With her I developed the passion for Photography, I learned that with it I can create stories, poetry and develop feelings with my work. I learned that its more than just clicking the camera’s shutter or adjusting it to the light. It’s a way to show people how I see the world. My life through my lens, as cheesy as that sounds, completely true. I have the ability to show people the little moments of serendipity in life, the moments that make it beautiful. These moments that are only noticeable if you look; If you really look. When I started my career as a photographer I cherished my ability to capture these magic moments. The ever fleeting, “decisive moment” – Henri Cartier-Bresson. My goal is to show people that the ordinary things that happen in life are also beautiful. To show people that if you just look closely and pay attention to the details, there are unique and interesting stories to tell. When I push that button in the camera I don’t realize or plan the story that I am trying to tell. The moment I decide to take the photograph is decided by my subconscious, my innate ability to see the beauty of the ordinary life. My gift to the world is to show hidden beauties and create poetry with light.”
