About Brian Vargas
Is an artist and designer from Cayey, Puerto Rico. Moved by the vocation of painting, he began studying at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas of Puerto Rico in 2005. As an artist he is interested in the abstraction and representation of the intangible things that surround us, how reflections are, sound waves and imperceptible manifestations such as wind or emotions. In 2014 he finds a hidden passion in Industrial Design, focusing his attention on furniture making. It was no surprise since he was involved in the process of building kitchen furniture since his childhood, which his grandfather, Mr. Edilberto Quiles, a cabinetmaker and artisan of Cayey. He began a new career in design with the idea of acquiring skills that nurtured his creative process in this new field. He continues as a student of design and painting, and has created pieces such as Cygnus (2014), All of them as one (2016) and Until the end (2016). He has focused his attention as a painter and sculptor in the task of constructing images of what we cannot see but could be represented. His main interest is based on the management of new aesthetic objects that build, and deconstruct, a descriptive thought of the intangible.
