Sculptor, born in Luquillo, Puerto Rico. Guzman holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sculpture from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. He joined master sculptor Pablo Rubio’s workshop in 1987, with whom he worked and assisted for eight years. Some of the work produced during this period includes “Cristales de la Paz” in Seville, Spain and “Encuentro en tiempo y espacio” in Korea. In 1993, Guzman was appointed professor and Resident Artist for Altos de Chavon in the Dominican Republic. He was part of the University of Puerto Rico’s International Sculpture Symposium along side very famous sculptors.
Also, he has been recognized by the Ateneo Puertorriqueño and has exhibited his work, collectively and individually, in such important institutions as Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico and Museo Las Americas, in Puerto Rico, as well as in the Dominican Republic. His sculptures have been exhibited in Paris, Athens, Panama City and his public art can be enjoyed all over Puerto Rico including municipalities as Guaynabo, Ponce, Luquillo, Bayamon, San Juan, Caguas, Arecibo, Cabo Rojo, Coamo and as far as Venezuela.
