Born in San Juan in 1945. Blondet holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, and a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from New York University. She has been professor at Escuela de Artes Plasticas de San Juan, Sacred Heart University, and University of Puerto Rico, both at Rio Piedras and Mayagüez Campus. She was also resident at Rutgers Center for Innovative Print and Paper in New Jersey. Throughout her prolific career she has received several awards from the Art Critics Association of Puerto Rico, the Ateneo Puertorriqueño and the University of Puerto Rico.
Blondet represented Puerto Rico at the Sao Paolo Biennale, Brazil and her work can be enjoyed throughout the urban landscape in all Puerto Rico. The artist has exhibited individually at Petrus Gallery, Sacred Heart University’s Art Gallery and the University of Puerto Rico. Her most important collective exhibitions include shows at Museo de Las Americas, Museo de Arte de Ponce, University of Puerto Rico’s Museo de Historia, Antropologia y Arte, Atlanta International Museum, Las Casas Reales at the Dominican Republic and at the Pabellon Nacional de Puerto Rico, in Seville, Spain.
Also, her sculptures can be enjoyed at Museo del Barrio in New York City; Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico; Museum of Modern Art in Sao Paolo, Brazil; University of Puerto Rico’s Museo de Historia, Antropologia y Arte and at the University of the Sacred Heart’s Sculpture Garden, among other public areas.
